I was just going through the list of blogs on mine and checking to see if there are any updates from my favorite bloggers. When I clicked on Amy Tan's blog, (nope, not related :) )I was so surprised to see her mention one of my layouts!!! Totally made my day!!!! :)

I'm off to a busy start... lots to do at work today.. end of month coming up, so the usual rush is starting. I didn't quite register this morning, when I was walking to work, that it's actually Thursday already today!!! Wow! The week sure has gone fast!

I caught up with Lisa after work last night. We went to Lychee Cafe to try out the place. The food is pretty decent and with decent pricing. Probably will go back again. Taiwanese cuisine so called, but I did see quite a mixture of pretty standard Chinese fare that you can find at CHA or Momotea here too.. and of course there was bubble tea as well. :)

As always we had a good laugh, a good catch up and a huge discussion on the traits that we'd like to find in a guy... hahaha...

Oh well.. I better go.. lots to do.... :)

P/S: Oh, I'll be posting photos from when my brother visited 2 weeks ago.... haven't had time to sort out the photos.

I got special drawings from little Kezia on Saturday and I scrapped two of them on Sunday!

She was so cute, when she arrived at the Indonesian Embassy with Mba Nina on Saturday, she ran up to me calling out.. "Kakak Michieeeee... I made these for you" and handed me 4 drawings... 2 of me and her, one of my house (as how she sees it!) and one of just herself.

That kid really knows how to show her love from such an early age.... personal artwork and lots of hugs, kisses and cuddles when we meet. Love her to bits!!!

So here's my layout featuring artwork by Kezia.

Have a happy day!!!

YAY!! It's finally spring.. although it's still quite chilly, I'm so happy to have longer days and sunshine.

On Monday, my order of new spring/summer clothes (happy colors) arrived from Forever21!!! :) It's great to have a new wardrobe to look forward to! (will post photos later on) Perfect way to start a new season!

Work has been pretty insane this week - with end of the month and all... but it's Friday and the weekend will be in here in about 7 1/2 hours! Woohoo!!!!

I'm catching up with friends after work tonight... drinks and then dinner at a Japanese restaurant.. yummy!

Hopefully I'll get to scrap a bit tonight and just chill out.

Tomorrow I plan to do laundry, tidy up my apartment a bit and maybe do a little bit of scrapping if time permits and then I have dance practice at the Indonesian Embassy at 2pm and will most likely stay for buka puasa (breaking of fast) and that's all I've got planned. Depending on how tired I am, maybe I'll work on my 365 album (so far behind it's not even funny!).

Sunday will most likely be a repeat of Saturday with church thrown in to the mix.

I'm looking forward to next weekend 'cos my brother and sister-in-law and her family will be here!!! Just really miss my brother and sister-in-law and it would be nice to see them again.. eventhough they're only here for 2 days... I'll take what I can get! :)

So till my next blog post.. toodles and Happy Friday!!!

There's always a first time for everything right? Well this is my first time scrapping 8.5x11. I'm usually a 12x12 or a 6x12 girl... but I've never done 8.5x12 before. Did this layout for Angie’s Complete This Layout Challenge at SISTV . I went digi on this one.

I'm off to bed.... I'm sore all over after dance practice yesterday and today. Learnt a new Betawi dance - Ngajoreng and it's not easy... my legs feel like they're gonna fall off!!!

But scrapping and art-ing keeps me going. Life's been too hectic for me lately...just work keeping me really busy and it drains all the energy out of me.

Plus I've been in a funk for a bit the past couple of weeks... not too sure why... but yeah...

Here's a canvas I made for Ovy - belated birthday present.

Michelle
Got these today!! Have been wanting them for a while and finally got them!! Woohoo!!! Can't wait to use them!

August so far:

  • Pool competition on the 1st - did pretty well, got all the way into semi finals (playing against guys!!)... and pretty happy with my effort.
  • Hung out at Gusti's place after dinner and just watched movies, drank wine and laughed.... with the usual guys.
  • Caught up with Andre for lunch together with Cika, Sammy and Bang Dade.
  • Took down photos from off my wall - changing things up a bit, still work in progress.
  • Got my Gilmore Girls Seasons 4,5,6 DVDs back from Mba Ki and she even brought me a cupcake! :)
  • Haven't done too much scrapping yet so far... but I got 2 canvases done a few days ago. :)

Canvas for Dessy

Canvas for Hana

Today is a really beautiful sunny day and I was really thankful to have errands to run - I got to bask in the sunshine for a bit... totally lifted my spirits!!

I'm off for a lazy evening... toodles!
Michelle
I got another layout done and scanned! Woohoo!! :)

Today's been really busy but I felt so satisfied at the end of the day to get so much done!!! :)

Just sharing this layout today... nothing much else to add.

Have a happy day!
Michelle
I had the laziest weekend ever last weekend... I stayed home and just watched movies, listen to music and surf the web.... managed to do laundry and color my hair...

And I left the house on Saturday for dinner and a bit of grocery shopping and on Sunday afternoon I went to the Warehouse to look for storage bins for my paint and came home with 2! :) One chartreuse green and one hot pink. LOVE them!!!

Yesterday was pretty good at work... busy but not stressful. I even managed to get home by 5.30pm and cooked dinner. :)

I chatted with Tri last night and he told me about a few Indonesian songs (this is how i keep up with what's nice to listen to!) and also a really beautiful Japanese song which has amazing meaning! You can read the lyrics in English if you click on more info.

It's gonna be a busy today... I can feel it.... so better go get some breakfast in me so I have energy! :)

Have a great week all!!!
Michelle
So.... I have been scrapping quite a bit... just only managed to photograph/scan them and upload them in my gallery over at SISTV.

Most of the layouts/cards are all done with American Crafts. I just couldn't not submit for their DT call. :) I made a whole bunch of layouts so I get to choose 2 layouts, a card and project to submit. Well, I only made one project. :) I'm so happy to have new layouts to go into my album!!!

I gave it my best shot.. so now the excruciating, nail-biting wait begins!!! I hope to make it to the DT!!! (Keep your fingers crossed for me ok?)

Today's a nice sunny day... but I think I'm just going to stay in and relax... or maybe just go out a bit later... see how I feel. I'm still tired from the big week at work... so I like not making plans and just go with the flow. :)

Have a great Saturday all!!!

Michelle
This week has been super duper flat out crazy at work I barely have time to breathe much less do anything else!!! By the end of the day I'm just totally brain dead and physically drained!!!!

Last weekend was super awesome actually... even though it feels like ages ago.. I still want to blog about it...because I had a really great time!

On Saturday I worked on the American Crafts DT call, hung out with Andre, my 'little brother' (he's actually a friend, 18-year old and we're really close like brother and sister) at home. I made lunch and we listened to music and surfed Youtube and chatted while I scrapped.

We then headed out to Satay Kajang for dinner with Priza, Mark, Bang Dade, Emir and another Andre and then went home to get ready for a night out in town. Ovy just turned 18 a week or so ago and she hasn't been clubbing yet.. so that was her big night!!

Lia's cousins from Jakarta (Edho, Ika and Ocky) were visiting too, so we club hopped a bit more than usual that night. We started at Tokyo Tea House, then went on to Jet just right next door but the music at Jet that night wasn't as good as usual, so we headed off to Maya... and that was really good fun especially when Priza, Mark and Adjie turned up to join us... and then from there we went on to Temperence... that was the first time clubbing there since they have quite a strict dresscode especially for the guys. We all amazingly got in!! Temperence has 3 floors with different DJs and types of music. That was pretty good too. After Temperence, my feet were starting to hurt a bit... Lia, Ovy, Ocky, Edho and Ika went home and I stayed in town with the boys. We went back to Maya for a little while and then headed off to Lotus. There was quite a queue there, and Priza crazily suggested that we go to Rain just for the fun of it, so off we went - only to find that it was closed for a private function!!! So we made walked all three blocks back to Lotus and stayed there. At about 4.30am, Dhani, the two Andres, Emir and myself called it a night and went off. We went off to get a bit of food and Andre, Dhani and I took a cab back to my place where we had a very late supper/early breakfast and then crashed!!!! I danced so much that night my feet were totally dead and my legs ached!

Click on the picture for bigger view.

Sunday was a lazy recuperating day.. Dhani, Andre and I lazed around for a bit and just hung out. At lunch time I got up and showered and Dhani went off to retrieve his car from town and meet up with Lia. Andre went back to sleep as I worked on my AC submission a bit more. Later that afternoon, Bang Dade came by and Dhani came back to pick up his passport and shirt and Lia invited us over to her place for dinner and karaoke. :) I don't usually go anywhere on Sunday evenings 'cos it makes me tired before work on Monday but this time I decided to. We had dinner and talked and laughed and had 10,000 BC playing in the background too. There was no karaoke that night! We had too much fun chatting and just hanging out. Dhani, Andre and I headed home around 10.30 and when I got home, I put all the things I needed to finish up my AC DT application together with the intention of working on it in the morning and went off to bed!

So that was my weekend... a pretty darn good one!!!!!!!! :)
Michelle
I love dresses.... whatever the season.. I love dresses and how they make me feel so girly and pretty.... had a browse through Anthropologie's website and these are the ones I'm drooling over.

This Dress

And this one!

Love the sunny color!

I want this so bad!

This is pretty sweet too!

How can you not want this?

Simple but pretty sweet

Cute!!

Just lovely!

Ideal for summer

Want this too!

Yes please

Well this one's not a dress, but I still like it all the same! I can see dressing this one up or down!
Simple, not plain

This project is so cool! I just stumbled upon it today. I wonder how it would feel to wear the same dress for a whole year and just bank on accessorizing and layering.

Read about it here

Ok that's it for now...
Michelle
Remember when I said I had a glitter rainbow on my bedroom floor? Well here it is.. I finally have the photos that I took with my friend's camera.

This is my first commissioned canvas! If I remember correctly, the size was 16x20. My dance coach asked me to create this as a farewell present for 3 of the girls - Azza, Sherine and Nadine (sisters) who were leaving NZ and our group. I had a lot of fun doing this one... I put in sooooo much time into the stitching and the glittering, even had a near breakdown when I was struggling to finish it in time for our farewell lunch/afternoon tea session - but I love the end result!
Michelle
I tried my hand at heat embossing tonight... played with American Crafts stamps and Zing embossing powders..... and now I want to emboss everything in sight!!

I'm really loving it! It's not as fiddly and messy as I thought... the reason why I never tried embossing until now!!! But now that I've tried it, I just can't get enough... so you may be seeing quite a bit of embossing on my layouts and cards in the near future!!!

I'm totally lusting for this:

Image from American Crafts blog

How pretty is that!??!! It's hot pink too!! OMG I WANT!!!!

Oh well... that's it for now.. will try to take piccies of the cards I made tonight.
Michelle
I have been that is.... so much so that I haven't had the chance to download my photos from the weekend off my camera! Hopefully tonight! :)

Work is still as crazy as ever... but I'm really squeezing in creative time at night when I get home from work.. and at the moment I'm loving the creative process and productivity!

If only I can get daylight to photograph the layouts I've done! Grrrr.... Hate winter (for the lack of light!).

Well... I'll be back soon... hopefully with pictures... the past couple of posts have been a bit naked I think... but still, I just want to update just in case all 5 (if even that!) of my faithful blog readers think I've fallen off the face of the earth! :D
Michelle
I had great intentions to blog on Monday about my weekend.. but of course I got sucked in with scrapping and watching Gilmore Girls again that I suddenly realized tonight, Wednesday night, that it's almost a whole week gone!

So I don't know if I'm going to blog about the weekend past or not... I may slip in a post between now and my last post! :)

It's been a really busy week at work and in the evenings, I've been scrapping too... but have yet to photograph anything since it's always pitch black by the time I get home from work and it's still too dark in the morning before I leave for work. So I guess I'll just have to do it this weekend. :)

Stay tuned!
Michelle

I've been scrapping a few layouts this week, but haven't had enough daylight to photograph them yet (darn day job!) :)

So will do that in the weekend!

Have a great day! It's Friday tomorrow! YAY!
Michelle
Finally I can reveal my little project I did a few weeks ago.

I made a few nametags for the SISiversary attendees... eventhough I didn't get to attend, but a few little pieces of me were there! :)

Here they are:

I did them in SISTV colors and am pretty proud of how they turned out. I learned how to thread and use my mini sewing machine that weekend too! :)

Thanks for stopping by! Hope you're all having a great week so far!

xoxo
Michelle
I like Mondays....the fact that it's the start of a brand new week makes it pretty exciting.
I get excited to see what the week holds for me.. so Mondays are good... busy but still good.

I enjoyed and savored the moments of my day and appreciated the little things.

My little thing today was that I downloaded Bob Sinclar feat Dollarman - Rock This Party (Everybody Dance Now) - LOVE this song!

And then I danced around my room with this song playing on loop!! LOL!

It felt really good to do that after a hard day at work.

I strongly recommend taking time out each day to just dance with pure abandon!

And I put the camera on timer and took pics too! Hahhaha....total cam whore but I don't care! :D

Just wanna share!

Hope you've all had a lovely Monday!
Michelle
I have a glittered rainbow on my bedroom floor! :)

Working on a special project at the moment and I'm pretty happy with how it's coming along!!!

LOVE it when things turn out like how I see it in my head.

It's lovely and sunny here today.. eventhough it's cold, I don't care.. I'm just so happy to see the sun!!

Have a lovely day all!!!

Have you ever woken up from a dream and felt all warm and fuzzy?

I did this morning! I had a really random dream last night where this cute guy (supposedly a friend of mine - but no one I actually know in real life) was being totally nice to me. I was really bogged down at work and a group of us were having lunch together in a cafeteria-like place (somewhere that felt like it was very near my work place) where I said that I wish I could take an hour lunch break to go for a walk and destress for a bit.

This guy friend got up and disappeared for a couple of minutes and came back with a number (like the type you get when you order food), put it down on the table and said to me.. go take your hour break. You can now... and I was stumped! Apparently he worked it out with my manager or boss or something that he'd work that hour for me! In my dream I got the vibe that he was keen on me (and that was a really nice feeling!) and I kinda liked him too... did I mention he was cute??!!!

And then at another totally random time, we were both in my room back in Malaysia and apparently I've got a new baby sister!!! We were both just playing and loving on the baby..and totally acting like we were a couple! It was kinda weird.. a nice kind of weird.

I wonder what this dream means... anyway.. it made me feel really warm & fuzzy today....what a nice feeling. :)
Michelle
My weekend was great!! :)Had coffee with a couple of Korean friends after work on Friday and then headed to the Indonesian embassy for a social function. Got loved on by my friend's little girl, Kezia - played hide and seek with her and fed her dinner and just hung out with friends. That was lovely! :D

Spent the day with my friend, Lisa yesterday. She asked me to take photos of her and I did get some good shots. (Here are just a few)

Then we went shopping at Dressmart and at Queensgate and I spent a bit of money getting new clothes and a new pair of boots. I got a tunic dress for $10 and a black long sleeve top (non merino!! Can't wear merino) for $10.99 and a really cool wrap around dress (can be dressed up or down!) from Max. Basically everything I got were on sale except for a pair of leggings from Lippy.

And then in the evening, I went to a friend's baby shower/farewell for a little while and came home to an early night - who knew shopping could be so tiring!

Today I went to Newlands College for the opening of the Indonesian Independence Day sports tournament. Just a chance to catch up with friends and buy some Indonesian food (risoles & pisang goreng). :) After that, Priza, Sammy, Bang Dade and myself went to lunch at Rams and I went to Gordon Harris to get a canvas (to make a farewell gift) and canvases were on 35% off! Woohoo!

Then it's just a lazy evening in - rang my parents, edited photos from yesterday and watched Greys Anatomy.

Phew! This has been a rather social weekend in comparison to my usual ones!!! Hope you had a great weekend!
Michelle
For this!!!!!!!!!

Michelle
It's been an insane week at work.... extremely busy with lots of proof reading and invoicing and phone ringing off the hook with new jobs coming in... Oh my... I've barely had time to breathe much less do anything artsy!!

Well, I lie... I did make a couple of cards on Tuesday... but that's probably the extent of my creative time this week. At the end of the day, all I want to do is just take a hot shower, jump into my jammies and go to bed!

It's winter. It's freezing. And I've had a hectic schedule.. so that explains the whole wanting to hibernate thing...

I went to Sweet Mother's Kitchen for dinner with Michele and her daughter, Chanel yesterday.. that was nice.. We had jambalaya and curly fries with Creole mayo! YUM!!!! :)

So that's about it.. really looking forward to the weekend.. have plans to catch up with Lisa and go shopping and possibly thrifting! It'll be my first time thrifting actually, so not sure if I'll find something, but I'm sure it'll be a fun experience. Hope I get to find some great bargains... :) And then I have dinner at night with a few friends - not sure where yet, but I'm sure it'll be a blast!

So I'll leave you with piccies of the cards I've made (some made last week). :)

Thanks for stopping by!!!
